On the 24th of April 2023 we won a Gullruten (“Golden Screen”) award for Best VFX for Kuppel 16 (Dome 16). Gullruten is an annual award for the Norwegian TV industry.
Congratulations to the VFX team who made these VFX look award-worthy : Albert Van Vuure & Dustin Kershaw from our talented team and
Luuk Meijer, David van Heeswijk, Kai Kiønig Bortne and Stardust Effects who we collaborated with during this production.
It was a great pleasure to work on this sci-fi series with this VFX team, production company Tordenfilm (Ingunn Sundelin, Eric Vogel ), co-production companies Storyline Studios Norway, Big Blue Productions (Fleur Winters, Leonie Rotermundt), Thomas Seeberg Torjussen (creator, writer, co-director) and Daniel Voldheim (co-director and DOP).
Set 120 years in the future, in a world suffering from climate neglect, the series follows 14-year-old Anton, who lives in a domed city which keeps pollution and radiation out, and Emma, also 14, who lives with her clan of extended family members outside the dome. Occasionally, Emma and her mother are allowed into Dome 16 for part-time menial labor, which is how the young girl meets Anton and the two embark on an opposite side of the tracks relationship.
